Throwback: Glawning in The Daily Mail 2021

Another throwback another national rag! Looking back to October 2021, we were delighted to see Glawning featured in a Daily Mail Online article about how online advertising is levelling the playing field for entrepreneurs.

The piece highlighted how small, innovative businesses like ours can now reach niche audiences and build community thanks to the power of targeted online advertising. For Glawning, that meant being able to share our passion for stylish and comfortable outdoor living with people who might never have discovered us through traditional marketing alone.

The Daily Mail article noted how tools like social media ads and online campaigns allow companies with big ideas — but small teams — to compete with larger brands by connecting directly with people who care about outdoor adventures, campervan life and glamping culture. We're able to drill down in Facebook ads to people who have listed camping and campervans as their interests and it helps enormously. That visibility helped introduce many more readers to what glawning is all about — transforming camping into something a bit more comfortable, creative and memorable.

Being featured in such a well-read national title was a huge moment for us. It celebrated not just Glawning’s products, but also the idea that authentic, community-driven businesses can thrive online — reaching people far and wide without needing a huge advertising budget to begin with.

This story reminds us how much things have changed in recent years: now, with the right message and the right audience, even small outdoor lifestyle brands can make a big impact — sharing the joy of adventure and connection one post, one campaign, and one happy customer at a time.
