Will a Glawning fit my van? How to measure

Measure from the ground straight up to your awning rail, or wherever the canopy will connect. Between about 1.7m and 2.1m you need the standard canopy. Between about 2.4m and 2.7m you need the high roof canopy.

Standard, high roof or slim canopy: which do I need?

Choose by the height of your connection point: standard for about 1.7m to 2.1m, high roof for about 2.4m to 2.7m. The slim canopy is for connecting to the back of a car or 4x4. Classic and AIR canopies aren't interchangeable.

Connecting to an awning rail or wind-out awning

All our canopies use a 6mm bead. The driveaway kit has a 6mm bead on one side and a twin 6mm/4mm bead on the other. It fits C-channel rails, Multirail systems and VW California rails, plus most Dometic, Fiamma and Thule wind-out awnings.

No awning rail? Other ways to connect

You can use a pole and clamp in a gutter rail, attach to roof bars, connect to a wind-out awning, or throw ropes over the roof and peg them down on the other side.

Can I drive away and leave the Glawning pitched?

Yes. Unhook the canopy from your vehicle and either leave it hanging or zip it off and store it inside the tent. Reconnect it when you get back.

Can I connect to two vehicles at once?

Yes, with a canopy for each vehicle. On a GlawningAIR, a canopy can zip to any of the three doors. On a Classic, you'll need the Triple Door to connect two vehicles and keep a separate entrance.

Using a GlawningAIR with a car or 4x4

GlawningAIR

Use the GlawningAIR slim canopy. It has a shorter bead to fit the narrower rear of a car or 4x4, so you can connect at the tailgate rather than the side.
