Can I leave the flashing kit fitted when I pack away?

In short

Yes. Cover it with a shower cap or towel before folding so the wing nuts can't pierce the canvas. You could also swap the wing nuts for dome nuts.

You don't need to remove the flashing kit each time. If you leave it on, protect the canvas around it when folding, especially if you roll the tent tightly.
