What can I burn in my stove?

In short

Clean, dry wood is best. Wood-based briquettes are fine. Avoid coal, ovoids and anything else that burns very hot, because our stoves are rolled steel rather than cast iron and can warp.

Good to burn

  • Clean, dry, seasoned wood.
  • Wood-based briquettes.

Avoid

  • Coal, ovoids and other fuels that burn very hot. Repeated very hot fires can warp a rolled-steel stove and shorten the life of your flashing kit.

Keep the flue clean

Burning dry wood keeps soot build-up down. Clean the flue regularly; a cheap toilet brush does the job.
