Classic poled Glawning or GlawningAIR: which should I choose?

In short

Both are 200gsm polycotton bell-tent awnings that take one person around 15 minutes to pitch. The Classic is the stronger choice for exposed, windy sites. The GlawningAIR inflates instead of using poles and has more head height around the edges thanks to its more vertical walls.

The Classic poled Glawning

  • Aluminium A-frame and a steel centre pole, all elastically corded.
  • Handles high winds and gales better than the AIR, and is often the last tent standing on a campsite.
  • Comes as a Double Door or Triple Door, in 4m or 5m.
  • Works with reducer poles if you're short of space.

The GlawningAIR

  • A single inflatable air tube with three valves, so there are no poles to assemble.
  • More usable head height around the edges because the walls are more vertical.
  • Six interchangeable wall panels, three doors and three windows.
  • More prone to movement in strong gusts, so take extra care in high winds.

What they have in common

  • 200gsm waterproof, mildew-resistant polycotton canvas.
  • A pre-cut stove hole with a fire-retardant stove jack and Velcro flap.
  • 4m tents are 2.5m high in the centre and 5m tents are 3m high.
  • Around 15 minutes to pitch for one person, once you've had some practice.
