Cleaning and reproofing your Glawning

In short

Let mud dry and brush it off, then spot-clean with water if needed. Never use household detergent. Reproof with any good-quality liquid canvas reproofer when water stops beading on the surface.

Cleaning

  • Let mud dry, then brush it off.
  • If that doesn't work, use plain water or a tent-safe cleaner. Never use standard detergents.
  • Knock off ash specks from inside the tent rather than rubbing them on the outside.
  • Pitch away from trees where birds roost.

Reproofing

  • Use any good-quality liquid canvas tent reproofer, following the instructions on the tin.
  • Reproof when water no longer beads on the canvas, usually about once a year depending on use.
  • A fine mist is enough; you don't need to soak it.
  • Glawnings left pitched long-term will need reproofing more often.

Mould

Dry your tent fully before storing it. If you spot mould, treat it early. Our video shows how.
