Fitting the flashing kit to your stove jack

Applies to:All Glawnings from about 2022

In short

Every Glawning since around 2022 has a fire-retardant stove jack already fitted. You add a few bolt holes for the 45-degree silicone flashing kit, trim the flashing a little at a time so the double-wall flue fits snugly, then pass the flue through.

Before you start

  • Your tent has a pre-cut stove hole with a fire-retardant stove jack and a Velcro flap (on both the Classic and the AIR). Roll the Velcro flap up first.
  • The flashing kit is sold separately and is always a 45-degree kit.
  • Tents bought before about 2022 may need the hole cutting. Contact us for the right instructions.

Steps

  1. Fit the flashing kit to the stove jack, adding the bolt holes as shown in the video.
  2. Trim the flashing in small steps until the double-wall flue section slides through snugly. Don't cut all the way to the line.
  3. Slot the flue together with the spark arrestor at the top, and guide it through the flashing so the top half is outside the tent.
  4. Position the stove directly underneath and slot the bottom flue piece onto it.

Look after the silicone

Long periods above 300°C can damage it. Don't overload the stove, consider a stove thermometer, and use a double-wall flue section.
