Connecting to an awning rail or wind-out awning

In short

All our canopies use a 6mm bead. The driveaway kit has a 6mm bead on one side and a twin 6mm/4mm bead on the other. It fits C-channel rails, Multirail systems and VW California rails, plus most Dometic, Fiamma and Thule wind-out awnings.

Which bead goes where

  • C-channel rails, Multirail systems and VW California rails usually take the 6mm bead.
  • Wind-out awnings (including popular Dometic, Fiamma and Thule models) usually take the 4mm bead.

Why use the driveaway kit?

It makes connecting much easier and lets you unhook in seconds when you want to drive away. We recommend it for almost everyone with a rail.

Fitting it

  1. Slide one side of the driveaway kit into your vehicle's rail or awning channel.
  2. Slide the canopy's 6mm bead into the other side of the kit.
  3. Peg out and tension the canopy.
