Just got your Glawning? Your first-pitch checklist

In short

Before your first trip, check everything has arrived, do a practice pitch at home, and if you can, let it get rained on and dry out to weather the canvas. Have a look through the videos for your model too.

Before your first trip

Check your delivery. Most tents arrive in two packages; the Double Door arrives in one. Canopies and extras come separately. Report any damage within 30 days.
Watch the video for your model (below), then do a practice pitch at home. Allow longer than 15 minutes the first few times.
Weather the canvas. New polycotton may let a little water through at first. One or two soak-and-dry cycles usually sort it. See Weathering your Glawning.
Check your connection. Measure your van and make sure you have the right canopy and a driveaway kit. See Will a Glawning fit my van?
Using a stove? Fit the flashing kit before your trip. See Fitting the flashing kit.
Pegs. The pegs supplied suit soft ground. For harder ground, take a set of heavier pegs.
